1. I found my first economic trend in the whole Brexit ordeal. A plane company named Airbus no longer wants to do business with England. They said that they are very disappointed by the lack of preparedness from the country's officials. I found this article on the BBC website. I see an opportunity because any other plane company that's willing to comply with England could strike a nice deal with England. The customer for the opportunity could be the average member of society who wants to travel outside of the country. It shouldn't be too hard to exploit yourself if you own the company because the country needs plane services. Someone may not see things the way I see them because they might think that Airbus and England could eventually strike a deal. They're willing to wait around for them to compromise but that takes too long in my opinion.
2. I found my second economic trend on the Columbia Journal Review. The articles stating that the socioeconomic status could affect your confidence. The article talks about how not every kid has access to a computer, let alone the internet. This causes students to feel less worthy and can turn into them making poor economic choices. The opportunity that could be applied to this is making low-cost computers and basic internet accessible to all those kids. The average customer is someone who is poor and wants internet access. It might be very hard to exploit since we'd have to find ways of communicating with the secluded, poor people. Someone might not see it the way I see it because they might think that the program will be unsuccessful since poor people have no money.
3. My first regulatory trend is about the tariff in Kosovo. I found this story on a Lithuanian website. Companies that can't afford the tariff could get it paid off temporarily for a small amount of interest. The average customer could be a person who ships goods out the state. It shouldn't be too hard to exploit the company because people wants ways to pay off the tariff. Someone might not see it the way I do because they might think the tariff is too high.
4. My second regulatory trend is the un-liftable export tax on iron content.

Hi Brandon! I think the article you found on socioeconomic status affecting confidence is very interesting. I can see how this could really be a good economic opportunity. I do think that it would be hard to exploit this opportunity also, but it would be such a great benefit to those living in Columbia. I think it would really boost the confidence of some residents.
ReplyDeleteBrandon,
ReplyDeleteI really like your first point about Brexit as I have been following the ordeal closely. I think you are right there are a lot of businesses leaving the UK so there a wealth of opportunities to exploit. Similarly, Sweden needs to update their fleet and is looking for a company like a Boeing or an Airbus to use as well.
