1.) A behavior I've developed after being part of this course is to be more considerate of the amount of time I really have in a day. This course has taught me that assignment can't just be pulled together an hour or two before the deadline as they will look sloppy. A lot of these assignments require you to do interviews with people and explore the real world which is something you can't do if you don't start your assignment until 10 PM Friday night. I used to be really bad at managing my time but this course has taught me to analyze what needs to be done during the week and do it so I can have all the necessary information I need to complete my assignment.
2.) I balance 4 online classes and a full time job where I'm always working over-time since my manager likes my work ethic. I really felt like giving up after the third week of school because everything seemed to be weighing me down and it felt like I didn't have time for anything. What pulled me through was the idea of suffering now and living the rest of my life a champion. There will always be things that will come up and distract you into thinking you should quit. I had to use my newfound skills for time management to set a strict schedule for getting things done. I'm working the whole schedule out but I'm definitely managing my time better now and I can say that I'm in a good position to finish this class off on a good note. Being tenacious isn't just a personality trait after learning to use it in your favor: it becomes an attitude. You realize that there a lot of things that "weigh" you down but after fixing them up you realize that none of it is really that bad.
3.) My three tips would be:
- Check an assignment the week before it's due because you don't know what circles you're going to have to run to get it done properly
- Make sure to read and retain information from other blog posts because other classmates make valid points or see things in a perspective you didn't even consider
- Don't forget to finish your cupcakes on time

Hi Brandon! I agree with you that this class does take some dedicated time and effort each week. Something I am just starting to realize is that doing the assignments at the beginning of the week is very nice. This way I do not forget about the assignments and scramble to put my blog post together by the time Friday night comes around.
ReplyDeleteHi Brandon. I agree that this class needs time and dedication in order to succeed and sometimes that can be difficult when taking other classes. I understand how you can be stressed with working full time and taking classes, but it is good you are staying organized. I liked the three tips you have included. I completely agree with them. Sometimes I have to do the blog the day before and it is just easier to look into it a week before and have it done in advance.
