30A - Final Reflection

The most formative experience I've had this semester came from all the interviews I had to conduct. It taught me to ask questions that went more in depth than your traditional "yes" or "no" questions. It definitely helped me build confidence in my self as an interviewer and helped me dip my toes into the pool of finding business opportunity. I'm going to remember the strategies I've used in this class for years to come when I look to innovate things in my business. I'm most proud of coming up with my business plan because it took me a while to really think about something people needed and I like what I finally came up with.

I believe that I've developed an entrepreneurial mindset in the sense that not everyone in the world is going to need your product and that's okay. As long as you focus on helping the greatest amount of people with your product, you should invest into it's creation. Sometimes while solving a small problem you find an even bigger opportunity and that can help you expand the innovation of a product or service that already exists. The key is to pay attention to everything around you because no matter where you go people will have problems that need solutions and you could be the one to fix them.

My recommendation to the next group of students taking this class would be to keep a keen eye to the world around them. You never know what problems exist until you actually start to look out for them. Reading the opportunities other people came up with showed me that more problems exist in society than I really thought possible. Don't forget to write your peer reviews either or else you'll fail the entire section you worked on. Overall, stay focused and allow time for yourself to complete the coursework and you'll be fine.
